“Say: O People of the Book! Do you disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and the revelation that has come to us and that which came before (us), and (perhaps) that most of you are rebellious and disobedient?” – Qur’an 5:59.

“When it is said to them: ‘Make not mischief on the earth,’ they say: ‘Why, we only want to make peace!’ Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realize (it) not.” – Qur’an 2:11-12.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said: “Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange, so good tidings for the stranger.” – Saheeh Muslim 1.270.
