I am a woman of many layers
Externally
Internally
On the outside, I am protected by modest clothing
Conforming to my true self

As the layers and veils are lifted
My inner self exposed
Still layers to go
Strata to uncover
Truths to unfold

I am a woman and like the earth
I am many layered
Firm with gentle waves
Deep and boundless

My core is solid
And i have lived a lifetime
Of quakes, eruptions, war and peace

Yet ever comforting and protecting
Shielding, providing
Encompassing
And ever praising my Creator
I am earth
